Santa Fe - Looking for New Mexican/Local Cheap Eats

I know Santa Fe is well known for their upscale dining, but I'm visiting from Boston and can get plenty of that around here. I lived in ABQ for a year and am looking for some good local restaurants with green chili on the menu. Help!

PS (No recs for El Farol, Geronimo, etc.)

I'm more of a red chile kind of guy, but La Choza does a nice job with all their NM food.

I had the best red chile in my life at tecolate cafe, even though some people had said it was too touristy. It stained my mouth until I figured out that I needed to scrub it with hot water. Delicious! We had a strange experience at the Plaza. My husband found a long thin wire in his pork dish. They comped us a piece of delicious flan, though.

try Maria's carne adovada echiladas with red.
and a traditional margarita served up.
        All you need. Thats it.
        period.

Tomasitas on Guadalupe is actually really good, just crowded.
Horsemans Haven is great - more of a saucey green but very good.
        Good luck!

At Horseman't Haven, go for the Level 2 chile if you're brave. Gotta ask your server because it's not on the menu.
