Also, Safeway-type groceries will carry greens pre-packaged, already cleaned and cut up...

in the end, I actually bought "Chinese" mustard greens at the Safeway on Fillmore--which chain, as Ruth says, does vary its stock by neighborhood. The Marina Safeway is "my" basic grocery store, and it's had mustard greens in the past--and had collards when I was looking yesterday--but it sure didn't have a "southern foods" section as the Fillmore one does...now to see if the dish works...(we have various pizza places on preset on our phones--just kidding)

Thanks for reporting back! I first became aware of how much supermarkets vary when I was shopping at an Albertson's in a Latino neighborhood that had a giant Mexican food section right in the middle of the store. They also had, I counted one day, six different kinds of greens (collard, mustard, etc.).
