Vintage in West Roxbury to re-open

FYI: Drove by this afternoon and saw sign up that they are hiring. Saw online that the same family that owns a restaurant in Quincy named Alfredo's will be the new owner/operator.

  1. Wish they'd take it all the way back to Fontaine's. Man, I loved those chicken livers.

I don't want to date myself but I can remember, fondly, the fried boneless white meat chicken plates smothered in brown gravy with little sliced rolls equally drenched with melted wonder my cholesterol went thru the roof!! Oh, and the neon chicken was a little like the Citgo sign near Fenway.

I agree.......miss those chicken livers. Is there a restaurant you would recommend for chicken livers now? I know Davio's has a good chicken liver appetizer and the much maligned Golden Temple does have a good chicken liver and cashew dish even though
much of their food is not great. I think Vela has a chicken liver dish but I haven't been there yet.

The Franklin Cafe (South End) does a very nice chicken liver appetizer at this time of year: soy-marinated and pan-fried.

Sol Azteca currently does my fav chicken livers in town. Their "Higaditos Mexicanos."

The chicken livers at Davio's are to die for - particularly if the Lipitor does not kick in soon!
