Looking for Fried Catfish in Birmingham, AL

  • 3

I just moved to B'ham from Georgia and I've been impressed with the bacon, the fried green tomatoes, and the BBQ. But I've not been able to find a good place for fried catfish. I don't want a place where catfish is just on the menu. I want "Brother Bill's Fish Camp," with a pond out back and chickens in the front yard. Can anyone help??

(Also, smoked pork chops with red-eye gravy would be a plus).

Dang, that is a long way from Bham!

I have been to Ezel's Fish Camp near Oak Mountain...sadly it was very good...it was OK at best, and a little overpriced.

Top Hat Barbecue in Blount Springs has decent barbecue[Outside Slice Smoked Pork is the best offering]but the Fried Catfish is outstanding.A good bit of information is on :

Nice little ride out through the countryside too....
