Bandini & The Great Taco Hunt [moved from L.A. board]
Does anyone know what happened to him, what a great and inspirational foodie. He gave us many happy foodie moments. Bandini if you are out there please let us know you are ok. Via con Dios mi Taco Meister.
Bandini has disappeared into the ethernet. He used to reply to email queries, but I have not received any response to my last two or three, over the better part of a year. He did take a vacation from blogging and taco tasting a couple of years back, explaining that he needed to take off some taco-created paunch. He also occasionally would post on taco-related topics on the L.A. board, but I haven't seen any of those in quite a few months, either. If anything brought him out of exile, I'd have thought it would be the recent court decision overturning the taco truck restrictions, but alas, no comment or victory cheer from the leader of the fandom.
Fortunately, The Great Taco Hunt blog is still up on blogspot, and had a long and extensive enough run to still be a useful resource. Obviously, I am not the only one who misses Bandini and thinks of him as I drive around town and spot new places (yet another El Super Taco is springing up off of Sepulveda south of Jefferson) and wonder what his impression would be. Even if you aren't going to blog or review anymore, please check in so we'll know you are ok. And thanks -- still one of the most practical and useful food-related blogs around.
Nosh, You put it purfectly! I miss that guy, i waited every week for his 1 or 2 or if lucky, 3 posts. I love street food and this guy made me love it more. It was because of Bandini I enjoy the Taco Table on Vermont near Washington. Bandini, if you are out there and you read this, let us know you are doing ok, just busy or have moved on.
