Locavore 4 - Scottsdale
Wow, no reviews this time around? Are we the only ones that went?
We went last night and enjoyed ourselves very much as we did at Locavore 3. No collaboration this time, just Chef Porter creating many delicious offerings out of many tasty AZ ingredients. It was all delcious but the highlights for me were the Visser Family Lamb and the ice cream from Superstition Farms.
Featured wines were from Page Springs and Arizona Stronghold this time. Myself I really enjoyed the Page Springs Saignee and the Arizona Stronghold Nachise of the wines.
I don't know how turn out was on Tuesday night but there was decidedly less people last night than in July. And they've raised the price to $65 from $49...there were 8 of us last night and we all agreed though that at the higher price the $65 still represented a good value for the meal and wine and the overall enjoyment of the event. Still sad to see what probably is the effects of the economy...last time there were tables crammed in every inch, last night plenty plenty of open space in the room..and sevral tables of what seemed ot be no shows.
One more planned for this year in Dec...this time a collaboration with Janos. Looking forward to that one as well....
