I'm hosting an intro to beer for one of the local universities. There should be between 30 to 40 young adults (over 21 of course) in attendance, most of which are beginners. I have a line up of what I would like to taste them on, just looking for comments/suggestions, scale it back, etc.

For Lagers:
Stoudts Pils
Marzen- Pennichuck Big O & Paulaner or BBC Oktoberfest

Lambic interlude

For Ales:
IPA- Opa Opa & South Hampton
Ale- Ruddles & Duvel
Wheat- Carlson Craft Vete Ol & Allagash White
Porter- BBC Coffehouse Porter
Stout- Blue Grass Brewing Bourbon Barrel Stout & Allagash Black

Finish with Avery "the Beast"
Any thoughts???

Nice selection. A question and some suggestions:

1) Include a heavier lager (i.e. doppelbock) to show its range.
2) Add a traditional porter and stout to contrast the ones you have included.
3) What is a "lambic interlude"?

ok so the lambic interlude is utilizing sweet lambics. I'd consider then what effect that might have on palates for the balance of the tasting.

the tasting went great. Lambic kept all the women satisfied for the rest of the night. Everything else drank well. I blew them away with the BEASt at the end. Thanks for your help.
