Is there a counter at the St. Lawrence Market that is better then another?

Not really. In my experience, there's not much difference in the south market when it comes to rabbit. There used to be a woman who came to the north market on Saturdays from whom I used to get very good rabbits (the loins were especially good on her rabbits), but she hasn't been around for quite a while. I don't know who, in particular, to send you to in the north market now, but my advice would be for you to start your hunt there, then move south.

If you go to one of the better No Frills, you will find whole fresh rabbit... particularly downtown in the dundas/dufferin area. Or try one of the many Portuguese butchers, like O Nosso Tahlo and you will certainly get one there. Cheaper than SLM I would say.
