Where to take parents for special dinner

I am looking for a place in central NJ to take my parents out for a special dinner. Seafood, Italian, steak are all categories they like.

Menus on both sites, and both have that "this is really special" ambiance.

We went to Carpaccio in Middlesex which I had remembered as very nice, classic Italian. Horrendous choice. Dreadful service and mediocre food. And a manager that brushed us off when we voiced our dissatisfaction.

Although it may sound like a broken record to some, but for a truly special dinner, I would recommend Nicholas in Middletown/Red Bank.
