proper jewish deli: hot pastrami on rye pls
we are visiting chicago on wednesday. i am just dying for a decent hot pastrami sandwich.
can you point me in the right direction?
thanks so much in advance!
(prefer that the rye be steamed!)
Manny's is a kick and definitely worth a visit, altho their pastrami -- IMO a fairly spicy version -- is not necessarily hot (more like steam-table warm, if that) , altho if the servers are in a good mood, they might heat it up for you. Go there without huge NYC-deli expectations but rather unique-Chicago-experience expectations and you should enjoy. (Other excellent sandwiches there include corned beef, boiled brisket --the horse radish is on the tables -- and carved roast beef)
