Wine bars

Anyone have a favorite downtown wine bar to recommend? I'd prefer the West Village but am open to Tribeca and the East Village as well. Thanks!

I just had a great time at Terroir tonight. Great wine list, good advice, and carefully-prepared snacks.
I also agree w/the others that Gottino is nice in the W Village.

I went to Gottino and loved it! I have the others on my list to try. Thank you for all the great suggestions!

I can recommend several in my neighborhood (east Village)

        Aroma on 4th street
Bar Veloce/Bar Carrera on 2nd and 11th st
Degustation on 5th St /2nd and Bowery
        Grape and Grain - 6th st / b&c
        Solex - 1st ave 6th and 7th

all go to place places for great wine.

8th Street Wine Cellar is wonderfully cozy.

Gottino! One of my favorite wine bars :) Their food is fantastic as well. My other top pick is Terroir... very knowledgeable people behind the bar and always something interesting to try. Another cute place is Grape and Grain.

Not in the West village, but I like In vino and Terroir in the E, Village. I've had wonderful experiences, with food, wine, and service at both the places.
