Looking for an asian market

BirdNoir Oct 6, 2008 12:27 PM

I am looking for an Asian Market that sells pre-packaged fried tofu and/or shishito peppers, preferably in Chicago proper.

Thank you!

Not exactly sure about the specific foods, but Joong Boo Market is in Chicago and has a generally good selection for the city.

HMart has a location in northwest suburban Niles, not far from the city, and I think it's the biggest Asian market around. www.hmart.com

I am not sure what shishito peppers are, but pre-packaged fried tofu is ubiquitous in the Asian stores around town.
Go down to Argyle Street. There are at least 2 large(r) grocery stores to check out. There are also 2 large(r) ones on Broadway St. 1 is 1/2 a block south of Argyle and the other is about 1 block south.
You can always try Chinatown stores too.
        Good luck
