black truffle pasta/egg dish (for my bday tonight)
It's a little early in the season, but I'd like a simple black truffle pasta or egg dish for dinner tonight. I'm thinking a simple pasta with shaved truffle, or poached eggs with shaved truffles, or better yet, that ravioli-type pasta with an egg inside... with shaved truffles. :-)
Price unimportant, quality is #1. No risotto, and the truffled egg toast isn't going to cut it either -- I hate that dish (I love truffles but hate truffle oil). And no to Casa Mono because I go there a lot. Bar dining is preferred - I'm rolling solo.
Will Babbo have something on the menu? Where else should I look?

Hmmm, a dish with actual truffles. I had something with Australian black truffles a while back at Momofuku Ssam Bar but I don't think they have it any more, it was more of an experiment since they were the first black truffles out of the ground there.
Maybe Craft? I would call them. I see a salad with truffles on their web site's menu, which is from Sept. 2008.

its not early in the season for black truffles, it is the beginning of the season for white truffles..what are you searing for black or white? thx
