562619 Sun Oct 05 23:35:43 -0700 2008 2 22 Quebec (including Montreal) 0 4084401 Took a friend crazy for rice pudding to riz en folie on Mackay (just below Sherbrooke) and thought i'd post about it since I didn't find any info on this board. it's a small place, hidden away, set up like a cupcake shop-but that serves only rice pudding in a number of flavors. Concept is similar to the place in NYC with cute, brightly coloured containers (reuseable and stackable) and spoons. I had the maple flavour and she the "d'Antan" (old fashioned with raisins and cinnamon). it was tasty enough, though we warmed it in the micro when we got home and it was too sweet eaten that way. Meant to be served cold I imagine. The "ricetaurant" was, as I mentioned, cute and there was a decent looking espresso machine though I didn't test it out. I wonder how this concept will fly in the area...can't really see students (or profs) shelling out 5 bucks for a cup of rice pudding (though I thought the container alone was worth the price). They should have set up shop in Old Montreal me thinks. Anyone else have an opinion on the place?
