Did anyone watch last night - with Chef David Adjey? Who reigned supreme? I missed it.

    It is on again tonight..............

It was a tie...both coming in at 47 points I believe. The judges did not like the taste of David's dishes nearly as much as the Iron Chef's, but they gave him great points for presentation and originality. Good show for us Canadians.

I don't remember the names of Adjey's sous chefs. But it was a good episode because Adjey and Symon know each other so well and had fun ribbing each other. I enjoyed it.

I'd only seen Adjey once before on a show, and was surprised to see one of the dishes he made, the same he made on the show, which must have appeared a year or so in the past.

Anyone else see repeats? Am I expecting to much? I know they go there with an idea of three ingredients, wouldn't you practice some new dishes ahead of time? Even if they are proven winners?

I used to work for David Adjey, here in CA, and I too was excited to see him on Iron Chef- if only to see if he was still the same as he was here....and he was. The sweating, the running, and the funny lines coming out of his mouth.

I think Davids food looked great- but his food always looks great- its the taste...he OBVIOUSLY knew what the secret item they were to work with was, (that must always be the case)- he sure took some chances on the flavors..

He looked like he was having a hard time breaking down the fish- and I know he was pissed about cutting himslef- the shot of him plating some fish and his glove preventing him from putting the fish on perfectly- I can ony imagine the words that were coming out of his mouth.....it had me in giggles.

The lighter blowing up was cool and kudos that he just kept plugging away- "I am awake" was a total David moment.

              A TIE?????????????? What a set-up.

David is a copier, not an innovator.

Is he still married? I miss the shots of him on his web site with the permed hair- those were great.

Good for David- he is a tv star if there ever was one.....

I have always wondered if they know what the secret ingredient is. It just seems so improbable to come up with these dishes on the fly. Last episode was exciting with the lighter blowing up, but I have to admit, I am not a fan of watching the new Iron Chef Symon, I am a classic Batali, Cora, Morimoto, Flay gal (not in that order).

I remember reading some time ago that on the original IC, the contestants were given a list of three or four possible secret ingredients that might be chosen several days in advance, and that the actual ingredient was revealed as we see it on the air. I have always assumed that ICA did the same thing.

                    Makes sense to me.

No matter what- those folks work their ass off. I am not sure what I could produce, even with several top notch sous chefs assisting.

Adjey's on tonight at 9 and the show is set to rerun all night.

I'm interested in seeing who David has brought with him to the stage as for what I know of him, he doesn't own a resto but only manages catering and party gigs in and around Canada.
