Aargh ... try to buy beer at Publick House store

OK, they now have a humongus selection of imported beer but, OMG, there are no prices on anything. But WAIT ... they have two booklets of prices. Actual printed pages, organized by country, so you can take your book and then try to puzzle out which beer is where, which size is which price ... or you can leave, like I did.

I felt in terms of user friendliness that I was back in Windows 3.1, just one step short of a DOS C prompt.

(FYI, I'm speaking of the retail outlet for Publick House on Beacon in Brookline.)

Save yourself the angst and go to Downtown Wine & Spirits in Davis Square, Somerville, which has a broad (not comprehensive, but impressively broad, esp if you like Belgians) selection and from what I gather, better prices than the Publick House store.

I simply asked for prices on favorites - in my case, I gravitate towards German wheat beers. You can't go wrong with four packs of Julius Echter Hefe for $12, or Aventinus (my perfect beer) for $5 a bottle.

No need to go to Somerville, Wine Gallery of Brookline has a very good selection, average prices, parking and even nice people to assist you.
