Prego craving pork belly / meaty succulence

HI all,

Trying to figure out where to head next weekend to satisfy a pregnancy craving for pork belly or other rich, succulent, well-cooked tender meat. Cannot stand or wait too long (no "no reservations places), and prefer not to have blaring music. It proves challenging to search for such a specific dish or type of thing, but I'm thinking serious comfort food that I am just too tired to try and cook. No, I don't believe all those American paranoia stories about "no underdone meat, no this, no that" but I find that's what I'm longing for with my unbelievable second-trimester appetite.

Thanks for your ideas!

  1. Having just gone through this last year, I completely understand the interesting cravings! While I know you said, no "no reservations" places, you might consider Urban Belly in Logan Square. They are open from 11 a.m. until 9 or 10pm each day, so you could go during an off time in order to hopefully avoid a crowd. They have a tasty pork belly noodle dish that would hit the spot. Don't forget the dumplings too - they are tasty!
