CI chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe question
I'm planning to bake these for my boyfriend's birthday. He really likes his chocolate chip cookies chewy rather than crispy. Has anyone ever made the dough for these cookies and let it chill overnight before baking? Did it affect the texture? Can I just chill the dough in the bowl? Thanks in advance.
Yes, you can. What I usually do, though, is to shape the cookies, freeze them on a tray, put them in baggies, and then bake directly from the frozen state for an additional two or three minutes.
If you refrigerate the dough in the bowl overnight, you're going to have to let it warm up a bit. Not fully to room temperature, but enough so you can shape the cookies. The dough, if it's very cold, is difficult to scoop out and doesn't hold it's shape as well.
