We're probably a month away from any white truffle dinners... has anyone seen any menus or dates for special events in the Greenwich/Stamford area?

I just got the following email from the Schoolhouse in Wilton, if you haven't been - Tim Labant is an excellent chef - I don't think you will be disappointed.

We are having a truffle dinner next week on Weds, November 5th. The dinner will include four truffle courses plus dessert. We are going to have on hand White Alba Truffles, Burgundy Truffles, Truffle honey, and Truffle oil to work with. Typically a truffle menu will consist of pure and simple ingredients without a lot of over powering flavors to mask the flavor of the truffles. We are offering the 5 course dinner for $130+ tax/tip/& bevs or pair the dinner with wines for $160+ tax/tip.

Please give us a call at the restaurant to make a reservation (203-834-9816).

Thanks. Sounds great. Unfortunately, I will be travelling on that date. Otherwise, I would head on over to Wilton.

Over the past several months I have enjoyed truffled dishes at Solaia in Greenwich...they always seasonalize their regional Italian menus so I would presume 'white truffles' may be in the offing there soon. I also believe their food and wine list to be exceptional...www.solaiaenoteca.com
