Where to get family dinner on Christmas?
My family is coming from the US for Christmas, and I would like to take them out for dinner. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, in fact, we'd prefer under £20 a person. We live in Westminster, but would be willing to travel for a good buffet or whatever. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!
£20 per head in London on Christmas Day??? I wouldn't honestly think that you have any hope at all!

I think a curry house is the only place you've got a hope of coming in at that budget, to be honest. And I'm not sure what would be open at that time of year. Places that open on Christmas Day tend to do a special menu and charge accordingly. You'd be better off cooking for them.

I had a feeling that might be the case... I read about The Langley in Covent Garden having a christmas buffet starting at £16.95, but it looks like that is only for parties before christmas, not really on it.

It looks like Little Bay is the only place that might be in your budget range.

I would be very wary about any place that links the terms "Christmas Dinner" and "Buffet", especially if they are doing it so cheaply. Expect office parties fueled up on cheap booze.
My guess is that you will need to go for lunch rather than dinner as most places will have short opening hours on Christmas Day. Best bet will be a big London Hotel. Does Gordon Ramsay still cook at one of his hotel restaurants?

Hello,
Check out one of the Radisson Hotels, there are a few dotted around in central London. My girlfriend and I had a nice traditional Christmas meal on Christmas day at the Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten Hotel ( just off Seven Dials- close to Covent Garden ),in all honesty I can't remember how much it was but it was very reasonable. It must have been because I am skint most of the time !. If they want slightly more £ that what you are prepared to pay I suggest you try and haggle a price ? after all there is a credit crunch on ....
Good Luck.
