Purchase, NY

I will be attending a show at Purchase College tomorrow evening. We will be going with my 7yr old picky DD. Any recommendations for a place for dinner?

  1. If it is not too much of a drive for you I would suggest going south to Harrison...visit Trattoria Vivolo, a good, reasonably priced Italian restaurant that puts out some wonderful flavors out of a vintage diner...Its right across from the Harrison Metro-North.

The places down the street are always recommended, although I haven't been lately - Hilltop and Cobble Stone, very kid menu friendly. There is a place that used to be the Cobble Creek, don't know what it is now or how the food is.

There's a Portuguese place in Silverlake, but stay away from the Italian restaurant.

There are restaurants in the Arrowwood and the Renaissance hotel.

All of the above are close by, there are of course lots of places if you have time to drive.

Thanks....we will have time to drive today. We are coming from CT and can leave home whenever! I had also read somewhere on this board a place called City Limits Diner in Stamford. Any thoughts?

Blech. There's a City Limits Diner in White Plains, I'm sure it's the same thing. It's just overpriced diner food, but some here like it.

I'd search on the 'kid friendly' places mentioned here. What does she like to eat?

How far is Harrison from Purchase College?

Silverlake section of Harrison is 5 minutes from SUNY Purchase.

City Limits Diner is on Harvard Ave. just off Exit 6 on I-95 in CT. If on your way home, you will see the diner on your right as you exit. Thi sis an upscale "diner" - prices higher than your typical diner. This might be a good choice if you plan to drive home after the performance (on the way back home)
