Seattle Convention Center Recommendations

Philly Chow Hound needs help. Bunch of attorneys heading to Seattle area and need restaurant recommendations within walking distance from the Convention Center. Someone suggested Elliot's Oyster House. Any thoughts? All recommendations welcome. Looking for 4-5 restaurants that are nice enough to entertain clients. Thanks!

  1. Union Square Grill is an easy walk.

    1. expense-acct swanky places within walking distance: Barolo (Italian), EL Gaucho (steak-- a longer walk), Oceanaire (the chain seafood place), Earth & Ocean (in the W hotel), Wild Ginger (pan-Asian). if you can get a cab, Waterfront Seafood Grill (a notch above El Gaucho), Crush (creative), Canlis (a longer cab ride). There's also a Capitol Grille which i haven't tried yet. skip Elliot's unless your clients want casual seafood shanty. PS please visit Tat's for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich (or NY Deli for pastrami/reuben) and give us your feedback!

      1. I would add the Dahlia Lounge to the list of places within walking distance--to me, it's one of the quintessential Seattle restaurants and I've taken many clients there.

I don't think I'd go out of my way to go to Elliott's and it's not within walking distance in any event.

        1. Eliott's is good for oysters on the half shell. Wouldn't recommend it for anything else. rry Tango, right up the street from the Convention Center--small plates, Spanish. Everyone gets to order what they like and share if they like.
