Hey Everyone,

Recently our favorite dive bar with an amazing Wednesday night steak special closed. Now I am on a quest to find all the steak specials in Kansas City. Listed below are the one's we know of so far:

The Range
Monday: All you can eat prime rib

West Port Flee Market:
MONDAY $9.99 Strip Steak .

Frick n’ Frack
Tuesday: Steak Night

Jazz:
Sunday: Cajun Rib Eye $9.99

In the great city of beef there must be more than this. Let me know if you know of more.

Thanks!

  1. Tanner's Bar & Grill (less locations now than several months ago) has Steak night on Thursday's - your choice of an 8oz fillet or a 16 oz strip for either $.99 or $10.99 (can't remember). Depending on which Tanner's, can be one heck of a good tasting & large piece of meat, and they cook it accurately (i.e., rare, med. rare, etc.).

I would agree on the Tanner's suggestion. Personally, I haven't found a better steak, for the price, anywhere. It's not gonna wow you on ambiance or service, but it's a quality piece of beef.

    2. RJ's Bob-Be-Que had a Wednesday night steak special, strip or top sirloin, for about 10 bucks that's was quite good. Haven't had it in a year maybe, so I'm not sure if it's still available.

      1. P.ott's on the Plaza has a tuesday night special:
        8 OZ. FILET $10.95 5-10 P.M.
        W/SHRIMP ADD $2.00
The are owned by the same company as the Plaza III steakhouse. I was told they were the same steaks. They were really good!

The Olathe P. Otts has the same special. Both Tuesday & Satruday nights.

But I have never been able to bring myself to order one. When I have had hamburgers at this restuarant, they have always been well done, regarless of my requests. It would be a shame to do that to a good steak.

But do go there, if you like well done.

        2. personally I'm a bit leary of discount / low cost beef so we spend our steak money at Amy's Meats (amysmeats.com). Quality is outstanding and she's very happy to tell you about the beef, how it was raised, etc. And its local. The ribeye and strip steaks we purchase from her are delicious

Thanks for the tip. I've been trying to look into joining a CSA in the spring.
