The office I work in is very kindly being taken to Paris for the day for our Christmas treat! We are hoping to find a restaurant which has a private room and serves high quality French food. If it was somewhere with a prix fix menu as well that would be fantastic.

Thank you in advance!

  1. Laperouse has private meeting rooms; the prix-fixe prices are slightly higher when you book a private room. Check it out at www.restaurantlaperouse.com. It's been some time for me, but the quality is reportedly improved with the new management team.

    1. It all depends on your price range. Some small restaurant are easily privatised, like le Jeu de Quilles (which in fact only opens in the evening for private parties -- it's open for lunch and cheese and wine all day, then only for private parties in the evening). I keep liking Le Petit Riche for its frank and traditional food, and its has gorgeous private rooms and is historical all over, less chic than Laperouse. Many top restaurants also have private rooms -- Ledoyen in particular.

I had a terrible experience at Le Petit Riche on December 27, 2007 following a ballet performance at the Opera Garnier. I understand that it might be called "erratic"; however if you are going for a single day, as you indicated, and you are interested in a prix fixe menu, Le Petit Riche is a huge gamble. Go someplace with a reputation for reliability and consistency.
