Smokejacks has closed their doors. Space is for rent. A great loss.

It's sad to hear that any business goes under. I would assume the rents on Church Street are high and most people in town didn't appreciate what they had to offer. I always wanted to try this place, but I live four hours away, so there you have it. As I recall, most of the eateries on Church St. are so-so, which makes it that much more difficult to swallow.

I walked by today and was heartbroken. I just moved here a few weeks ago and had already pegged this place as my favorite. Anyone know what happened? All the tables were still inside, set, so it hints at a sudden financial issue?

That's a shame, but, pardon the pun, SignO, it's a sign of the times. So much competition on Church Street. :-(

          That's a loss.

I had a good "big business group" dinner, party of 10, in late August, and it was a good meal. Mid-week, the place was packed, but then, there was a big convention in town.

          R.I.P., Smokejack's.
