Chester, CT Restaurant Suggestions
We will be attending a play at the Norma Terris theater on a Saturday in a few weeks. I haven't been to Du Village in a few years and was wondering if they were still at the top of their game or if the quality has fallen off at all. Also, what's the board's opinion on River Tavern? Have read some good things about the food but have heard service can be slow which concerns me if we're trying to make a curtain. Used to really like Sig's but they're gone. Have been to Sage but found it average. Any other place I'm missing?
River Tavern, right on Main Street, is one of our favorites. Great chef, interesting locavore menus, bar and main restaurant. They cater to the theater crowd, so that shouldn't be a problem. Lupo's nearby on rte 154 is also very good. We've found Du Village to be a bit stiff and formal, and not quite what it used to be.
