Lunch in Boston -- celebrating a birthday and visitors

Hi all,

I searched the board and couldn't find anything recent. In a couple of weeks my aunt is coming east from Montana. My Mom and my aunt would like to treat me to a weekday lunch for my birthday. I'm looking for a fun, delicious (we like all kinds of food) place in Boston where my aunt will also get a chance to see a bit of the city. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jen

    Vlora is a good suggestion.
I assume you want a "celebration" type place. In Back Bay, Davios comes closest as does Abe & Louie's or the Bristol Lounge. I also like La Voile on Newbury.
Sel de la Terre has recenytly opened in Back Bay and reports are positive. (You can also go to the original on State St). If you are willing to spend more, L"Espalier offers a prix frix lunch and is now open at the Mandarin Oriental.

I know it gets dissed here a lot, but I've had good luck with chowder, lobster roll and/or raw bar at Kingfish Hall in Faneuil Hall. I also really like the tuna tartare there. Seems like a good fit for your request.

I suppose it depends on price range, so I'll suggest something in the middle. Vlora - it is right in Copley so is conveniently located in downtown for sightseeing. http://www.vloraboston.com/
