Some friends and I are planning a weekender in New York for late November. As an aspiring Chowhound, I'm seeking a great meal to commemorate the trip.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Thanks to all for their suggestions!
We ended up going to Mesa Grill. I was very satisfied to say the least.

Wrapped up the whole meal with an Irish coffee and hit the town. Great trip, great city. Thanks again, NY! I want to be a part of it!

If you want a great steakhouse, Wolfgangs is at 33rd & 3rd and one of the best in the city. You're also steps away from Artisanal - an excellent french bistro.

For a true NYC experience check out the Pastrami at Sarges deli on 36th & 3rd ave or at 2nd Ave deli on 33rd & 3rd.

Hi Chandler - to help you out, it would be great to know a few things first.

1. Are you looking for one great meal or many different experiences
2. What type of food do you like
3. What's your budget
4. What sort of atmosphere do you prefer?

While you don't have to answer all (or any) of these questions, the more we know, the better chance you'll get the perfect place.

How much do you want to spend (including liquor?)? Are you thinking of a high end place, and are you willing to travel. Where are you coming from?

If it's going to be great, I don't mind paying for it, I'll put it that way.

Any and all food experiences will be a change from what I'm used to, so literally all suggestions are welcome. Fine dining, greasy spoons, coffee spots, you name it.
