Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any wine bars or cocktail lounges in the West 90s, or upper West 80s that are any good. Maybe something like Vero. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There's Pudding Stones West on 91st and Amsterdam. It opened about a year ago. I've only been a couple of times, but I thought it was quite nice. I've never been to Vero, so I can't compare.

I haven't been to Vero. That said, I'd recommend Buceo (on 95th between Amsterdam and Broadway). It is smaller than Pudding Stones (recommended by dr.katz). They have a good selection of wines by the quartino (or bottle) in a variety of price ranges. I actually think their wine pricing is the best part about them. The food is good, though in my opinion expensive. (You can search for my full fledged review from a while ago.)

Between 98th and 99th on Broadway is Vinacciolo which, imo, is just okay. The wines aren't as well priced; the place is tiny (though the decor is nice). The food was just okay - most everything we asked for was "oh we're out of that" (you're out of camembert for the cheese plate? wtf!).

      Good luck.
