Where to eat near Levi Plaza

Going to see a jazz combo on Wednesday at Levi's Plaza is located between Battery and Bay Streets off the Embarcadero.

Anywhere nearby to pick up a quick picnic lunch. If not, my fallback will be Ferry Plaza before I hop on the streetcar.

Piperade has a take out place in the Ice House. Good food and would cater to your take out lunch. The grocery store on the back side of the plaza has sandwiches, etc to go and they used to be pretty good.

A 2nd. That's where I'd go or Cafe Destijl...use to be very good. Salads and sandwiches. Use to go there when I worked in the area. Also had a pass to the Levi's caferia altough I didn't work there.

Cute :) My husband and I both used to work at Levi's and, when I read this, I turned to him and said "is this a joke?" I also make (feeble) attempts at humor. Is Il Fornaio still on the plaza? Could they do takeaway also? Keep up the jokes, wolfe.
