        <content>there have been a couple of posts about peanut butter including the best national brand and pouring oil off non-homogenized to make your own "low fat" spread.

But what about making peanut butter yourself.  Can it be done easily in a blender or food processer?  has anyone in here tried it?  what kind of peanuts? what kind of results?  The couple of websites i looked at made it seem easy.... </content>

      <content>Not exactly what you asked, but a lot of health food stores have grind your own fresh nut butters including peanut butter. My favorite is cashew butter.  I think you can set the consistency depending on whether you want smooth or crunchy. FYI Down to Earth used to have these machines back when I lived in HI. </content>

      <content>the new safeway has them now, you have a choice of about 5 different things, including cashew butter, almond, and three types of peanut butter.</content>

      <content>2nd cashew butter, also almond butter is excellent.  I've done almonds at home, check food network for recipies.</content>
