Best breakfast burrito in LA??

I live for a few foods and one of them are breakfast burritos. I gravitate towards them if I'm in a breakfast spot and surprisingly they do come in many dif. varieties! hehe...

Frank's on Fairfax (I think the cross street is 4th or Colgate maybe). It's a tiny little coffee place with American and Mexican food. The green awning helps it stand out and you can ususally spot the same older crowd conversing over joe there. Very low key, affordable, good and chill. HUGEEEE breakfast burrito with chunks of potatoes, fresh fried egg, cilantro, onions, and delicious gooey cheese and their homemade salsa inside and choice of crispy bacon or sausage (and no not that fatty, flabby stuff you usually get) for like $4.

They also have stuff like burgers, tacos, and the standard breakfast foods etc etc. They give you chips and salsa if you eat in and they open very early (like 6am or something) and I'm pretty sure they deliver but only open until 3pm I think.

Agree--Lucky Boy's Pasadena....no place puts the amount of bacon in they do. I tell them 86 the potatoes otherwise its toooooooo big !!!

My 2 favorite spots for breakfast burritos would be:

-Nat's Early Bites in Sherman Oaks on Burbank-incredible, huge, tasty, great salsa on the side too
        &
-Flooky's on Canoga Ave. in Chatsworth-asian owned spot and they add everything in their breakfast burritos including peppers and just the right amount of heat. I get mine with both sausage & bacon, so good!

I tried Lucky Boy's and yes -- big! Very big. However, I really did not like the flavor or texture of the potatoes. That bacon, yes again, lots of bacon but IMO it did not taste like bacon. I was really hugey yet I dumped it after four or five bites.

Of the list above I like Wonder Burgers for my BB. I request 1/2 the potatoes because otherwise it is too bg but since the potatoes have a good flavor I still want some inside. Lots of bacon or sausage and the flavor is very good.

Another good BB with chili, egg and sausage (also get cheese) is Tommy's Original. The place that makes the best Breakfast sandwich in the world. Also, The price cannot be beat anyplace

Wonder Burgers (Very good / large breakfast burritos, Bacon or sausage, also, chili cheese and egg)

I second Wonder Burgers for their big and tasty tasty BB and also the bacon BB served at T Burgers in Monrovia. They even have a pastrami BB that's delicious! To add even more flavor I always order my BB with pico de gallo - yum!

            T Burgers

            Monrovia

Third Wonder Burgers (their fried zucchini is also great)! I happen to LOVE Lucky Boy's as well.

        2. re: Servorg

i am also in search for this........ particularly in the south bay area (san pedro to manhattan beach) ......maybe up to marina del rey is ok too.

          1. re: jaymor

Have you tried the version they serve at Gaffey Street Diner? Pretty damn good.

yes......good one.....good liver and onions......did not know they had burritos for bkfast though.......any others

            2. re: jaymor

I LOVE the breakfast burritos from "LBJ Burgers" ... behind "El Burrito Jr" on PCH in Redondo Beach. I get mine with bacon and sometimes add avocado.

Also, the breakfast burritos at Amigos Tacos? They have several locations, but I prefer the one at 3216 Manhattan Ave. (in Hermosa Beach).
Breakfast Burrito: 2 eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns and salsa.

              mmmm

          2. Golden Eagle in Long Beach w/half sausage and half bacon...too big for one meal or one person. Eat half and your already full...the whole thing and you will burst.

              Yum all these sounds great!!

I was driving past Cactus Taqueria on Vine today in Hwd and they had a sign for one from 11am (maybe earlier) until 2pm...which is great because weekends I like to sleep in!!!!

I was going thriugh Long Beach this morning and had a map I printed out after reading your post. So I went to Golden Eagle. Thanks. This is a two hand breakfast burrito filled with very good sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, potatoes and salsa. I asked them to make it with only half the potatoes and it was still too big. For a little under $5 you get more than you pay for.

I paid for my food and took my number to my table. As I waited for them to bring my burrito I was getting more and more hungry as noticed the plates being placed at the tables around me. Nice long strips of bacon, long sausage links and then I saw two golden brown pork chops w/ eggs placed on the table next to me. Those chops looked and smelled perfect. I could see the heat rising off of them and I was going nuts. My burrito was even hotter and rapped so nice. Thanks again.

              2. I agree about Frank's. I love that place. I get it with what you mentioned above but chorizo not bacon and they also are happy to dole out a cup of hot ranchero sauce that you can pour into the burrito as you take it down. Also enjoy their selection of cool mexican pineapple and other sodas.

                1. i consider myself a veteran of the breakfast burrito circuit (lucky boy's, tacos corona villa, etc), but the best breakfast burrito i have encountered in LA is the burrito at the Oliveview hospital in Sylmar (seriously!)...perfectly proportioned eggs to potatoes to meat, made-to-order (avoid the pre-made ones under the heat lamp), not overly greasy..you can tell the short order cook takes pride in his work... ask for a roasted jalapeno on the side and there's plenty of tapatio lying around.

TVC is notable for their tortilla breakfast burrito. chips are used in lieu of potato (don't worry, they have potato if you want it) making for a sort of chilaquiles stuffed burrito, i get it with chicken. pretty great.

                  2. Dino's gets my VOTE! ask for the COMBO!

                    1. Cafe Zella on Wilshire at 16th St. in Santa Monica has a very nice breakfast burrito. It's not huge, but the ingredients are of very high quality and it comes out of the kitchen quickly.

                      1. La Flama in West LA on the corner of Barrington/Pico next to the mattress store. Very small taqueria with a meat market in the back. Owned by the same family that runs Monte Alban in SM. They serve a fantastic, fairly spicy machaca breakfast burrito with egg/chilis ( I add avocado). Big enough to serve 2. Always a hit.
