Kaffir lime leaves? Most big Chinese or Vietnamese grocers.

Lemon grass you can sometimes find at loblaws, I see it in the organic section I think.
A&P has it too sometimes, I don't know where you are but I'm sure an asian market would have it too.
Mortar and pestle, I find those things to be quite pricy in some places, believe it or not I like homesense or winners home section for them, this season they brought in several nice heavy ones for 1/2 price (about $14) or so, great value, I have an ikea one too, and a small stainless steel one for things like garlic which you could find at the kitchen stuff plus store or home outfitters. I find one that isn't polished inside to work the best, there is some friction and it's good for things like seeds and spices. Can wash it easily too.

Yes, T+T would have all that stuff, fresh.
Hard to find the correct mortar and pestle for doing Thai style pastes here. Ideally you need a rough stone mortar and a wooden pestle (or visa versa). Stone on stone will yield grit and wood on wood just doesn't cut it. The smooth marble things you find in Toronto don't work at all.
Maybe somebody has an idea where to find something decent.

Where in the city are you. T and T if you are downtown. Or chinatown.
In the westend there is a big asian grocery store on the southeast corner of black creek road and lawrence that carries everything you are looking for.

OH that's interesting about the wood on stone, good luck!

Everyone is correct, and yes, I think they're called Kaffir leaves. I saw them in Chinatown last week. The big grocery store on Spadina, just north of Dundas on the East side. You'll find them in the produce section... far left corner on the shelf, if I'm not mistaken, or in the dried everything aisle beside the produce section.

          Thanks everyone...
I found the lime leaves (kaffir leaves) in chinatown.
As for the mortar and pestle..the same store only had the wood mortar and pestle and after consulting a friend, he told me to wait and find a stone on stone one.
Thankfully, the kitchen store beside the place I buy flowers from (avenue/davenport)...had a stone/stone mortar and pestle.
I went home...and worked hard smashing the ginger, scallions, garlic, lemon grass, chilies and peppercors!! But it was worth it.
