Piano Bars?

Are there any in the area? Good food would be a plus, but not a necessity. Looking to take out a friend who fell in love with the initmate feel and great live music of a piano bar on a recent trip to NYC. There have to be some in the DC metro area. Please help.

TIA

Mr. Smith's on M st in Georgetown or Banana Cafe in Eastern Market on 8th. Both decent food...Mr. Smiths's is traditional pub grub and Banana Cafe is Mexican/Cuban.

if your willing to come up to Baltimore, we have a Howl at the Moon (dueling piano bar) in the inner harbor.

You may want to check out this web site and then do searches on CH about the various places listed: www.crosstownarts.com/crosstownarts/v...

It has a list of piano bars in DC area. Hope this helps.

701, (it's right at the NatlArchives metro stop), though I haven't been there when he/she was playing, it's a nice space but I'm not super impressed with the food I've had (which hasn't been much, just appetizers with drinks).

The last time I was at 701 the bar menu was quite nice (not cheap). It's a really old-school feeling, DC atmosphere. I like it quite a bit.

I know Fairmont has a piano player at night... but the wine list isn't very interesting and I wouldn't recommend the food.
