  1. With the tremendous growth in readership and posters since Chowhound.com changed hands, I bet that most reading this are not familiar with the Chowing with the Hounds picnic tradition of the SF 'hounds AKA the world's greatest potluck.

So, here are links to the two report threads from the 2007 picnic,
    http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/448504
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/448507 (recipes on home cooking board)

And, the website, http://chowingwiththehounds.com/ . The FAQ and program schedule pages there will answer most questions.

Advance registration is via the evite that Marlon linked above.

Inquiries? Email marlon at chowpicnic@att.net .

From my side, I'm so looking forward to seeing new and old faces tomorrow. A gallon of homemade stock for part one of my contribution to the groaning picnic buffet is resting in the fridge . . .

    1. Yay, Marlon! Have fun. I am off to Maui this weekend, or would otherwise participate. I WILL be there next time!

      1. My fridge is full now as well! If there is anyone reading this who is on the fence about coming, you should definitely come! Your stomach will thank you.

        Hasta manana

If anyone is looking for cilantro at this hour, Marina Safeway is sold out. I had to go to Northpoint Safeway.

It's not too late to register. A chow pal just signed up . . . she called me from a bar a few minutes ago and i did the evite registration for her. We also talked about and figured out what she could buy in her neighborhood to bring to the picnic that would be hound-worthy.

        2. Can't wait! I will be up early cooking.

          1. Maybe next year you won't be against the Folsom Street Fair and I can attend...

The picnic was yesterday. The Folsom Street Fair is today, Sunday.
