Any hummus (except the Turkish variety), the kibbe naya, the pickled labneh, the fried cauliflower, the crispy haloumi, the chicken freekah, the 'Bulgarian' skewer. For dessert, the 'New School' and the baklava.

I second the hummus, pickled labneh and fried cauliflower. We had the salad sampler (I forget it's actual name) and it was great. The only thing I didn't care for was a special skewer that was fish with a walnut pesto type sauce that was just awful. The fish was fine but the two of us who ordered it pushed the sauce aside. The specialty drinks were good as well, especially the after dinner drink, the name escapes me, but it is a licorice type liquor served with water. Great digestivo

That liqueur is Arak. In addition to the after-dinner version, they make a great cocktail with it there, the 'Dead Sea'.

yes! One of my dining companions had the dead sea, I had the after dinner Arak. I had a lemony minty cocktail that was quite refreshing too and other companions had their version of a manhattan and enjoyed it.

I recommend the grilled sardines, the Jerusalem grill (chicken livers and sweetbreads), the Moroccan cigar, the fried cauliflower, and any of the regular menu skewers.

when I ate there, they were running a special of foie gras kebobs....my god were they good. and for the price, ($18), you got three huge peices of foie. they were cooked in the coal oven with a moleasses glaze and roasted olives....mmm

We went last night and it was really terrific. We ordered most of your suggestions. Our favorites...crispy.haloumi, hummus with fava beans (wonderful bread), two kinds of kabobs....one beef, the other lamb and the morrocan cigars. Oh, the salad sampler highlight had several wonderful (if not really small) dishes. I had the "dead sea" and my husband something with bourbon, lemon and mint. Both wonderful cocktails. I have to comment on the service....they were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We saw a movie at the Ritz right before dinner and wow if that isn't the perfect place to go after a movie. We will absolutely be back.
