Phoenix 'Hounds ... who makes the Valley's best chocolate chip cookies?
Been on a bit of a chocolate chip cookie binge of late.
Paradise Bakery, Sacks, Fresh & Easy and even had one at Welcome Diner. All were good, but none really hit the spot. Some were a bit too sweet, some a bit dry, some did not have enough chips, and others were too cake-y (i.e., Sacks).
Wondering where Phoenix 'Hounds go for their favorite chocolate chip cookie fix?

I really like the chocolate brownie chip cookies at Sweat pea bakery on Jackson. MJ Bread on Roosevelt has a pretty good chocolate chip cookie also.

Agree about Sweet Pea and Tammie Coe / MJ.
Other contenders:
Urban Cookies
Simply Bread (although cookie selection varies)
Whole Grain Bread

I believe Whole Grain Bread has been closed for several months.
Another vote here for Tammie Coe / MJ.

Thanks for the update. I passed by today and it looks like total goner. Must be a cursed location. Whole Grain was no MJ or Simply Bread, but it did certain things well. I wonder if the Mesa store is still open.

I don't know about a Mesa Whole Grain, but, the Tempe Great Harvest is still open.

I love this kind of bread, and I'd like to support these businesses, but, I can't justify the drive.

Ironically, a Great Harvest franchise occupied the space @ 32nd St.& Camelback before it became the second location of Whole Grain.

I love the bread and rolls at simply bread (what are those lovely cinnamon bun things called?), but those cookies are not very good.
Kosher bakery means no butter... which translates to not delicious in my mouth. (But why are those cinnamon things are so good, then?...)

me? LOL
OK more seriously, if you're looking for a commercial cookie. I love the place in Tempe on University. Cookies from Home. All the cookies are great including the chocolate chip. It's good I don't work around the corner from them anymore!

Urban Cookies makes a pretty tasty chocolate chip cookie.
They were at the downtown market last Saturday. Hopefully they will continue to be there through the fall for those of us who run around with our hair on fire during the work week.

They also have late night weekend hours at their retail outlet.

While it's not exactly what you're looking for, when I'm craving chocolate chip cookies, a pizzookie from Oregano's really hits the spot! Mmmm I'm getting hungry just thinking of the warm gooeyness, and they top it with vanilla ice cream and chocolate chips!

Jess, I whole-heartedly agree! The pizzookie at Oreganos is perfect for that craving. The almost-baked cookie dough, under a perfect serving of ice cream is probably the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Now if only someone would open an Oregano's franchise in So CA!
