NYC-Boston drive

We're driving to Boston and don't want to get too far off the highway. Is there any worthwhile dinner spot along Merritt Pkwy/Wilbur Cross/Rte 91/84? I apologize if this has been covered before, but I don't know how to search. Thanks.

Piccolo Arancio is a great Italian restaurant in Farmington, CT on Route 4 West just off exit 39 of 84.

Reins Deli (I think it is exit 64 on 84). My usual there is hot pastrami and chopped liver on a toasted bialy with mustard. A great sando. Get a Cel-Ray soda too. Easy access to and back to the interstate.

was just at katz's deli (exit 59 off the merritt/wilbur cross) yesterday, and it is always good. just off the highway, open 10-8. picked up some chicken matzoh ball soup for my daughter. very good stuff.

Ted's in Meridan, Ct. just where the Merritt hits 91. Famous for its seamed burgers. Worth a stop.

A lot has been written in various threads regarding New Haven as a premier dining destination. Right off I 95 and I 91, there are a number of excellent options...

I do not like to get off the interstate for food and do this commute often. A good alternative to fast food is Traveler Restaurant in Union, Connecticut and it is right next to the interstate. It's on I-84 just before you cross the Ma border. There is a large sign before you exit that says TRAVELERS FOOD & BOOKS. It's an old timey spot and not he best food by any means- but you get a free book and friendly service.
