Foxwoods Food and Wine or Newport Mansions Food and Wine this weekend

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of the these two festivals. We are planning to attend one of them on Sunday and are torn as to which one. We have never been to either. We live alot closer to Newport but heard the Foxwoods Festival is amazing. Does anyone have any input? We would probably just be doing the Grand Tastings. Foxwoods is $125 1-5 and Newport is $85 1-4 I believe. Thanks in advance!

  1. Since I heard it's supposed to rain, somewhere between 2-6 inches, I would opt fro the Foxwoods food and wine, I'm sure both are good, I know there are alot of famous chefs going to be at Foxwoods. Just previewed it on the Foxwoods website, that's alot of talent in one room!

    1. If wine is your focus, the Foxwoods event can be disappointing. The quality of the wines poured is quite pedestrian. The exhibitor tables are heavily geared toward distributors and importers as opposed to wineries, and as a result, the wines are largely "supermarket" qualilty wines instead of "fine wine shop" wines. The cooking talent is very impressive and the demonstration rooms are pretty small. So you do get a chance to see some celebrity chefs up close and chat with them.
