Italian between Wilmington and Philadelphia

Fiona Sep 24, 2008 06:50 AM

We are attending a lecture by Marcella Hazan at the Philadelphia Library on Tuesday October 5. We are looking for an appropriate Italian restaurant where we will be able to satisfy the craving that will follow the lecture. Neighborhood is not an issue although something near the Library or between Wilmington and the Library is best. Price is of some concern since times are tough but it is a special occasion. Since we are seeing Marcella we are not looking for a red gravy place this time. Thanks in advance.

Osteria? I'd stick with something in Philly in any case. The pickings are slim for Italian in Delaware much less in between.

Osteria is close and wonderful (Marc Vetri, Jeff Benjamin and Jeff Michaud are the beyond comparison in Phila (OK - yell at me some of you). Consider also Paradiso on Passyunk or L'Angolo in S Phila

Thanks for replying. I have looked at Osteria's web site and it seems perfect.

Also, there's L'Angolo in South Philly. Its one of my favorite places to eat in Philly, Italian or otherwise.
