This is close to my house and I'm a big fan. Better than a pizza I had in the summer in Italy. Try it out if you can.

the guys who run FM have just opened an organic deli a few doors down. They sell some great looking stuff, including most of the ingredients they use in the pizza.. The sourdough bread baked in their pizza oven is amazing..

I hope they sell the artichokes I had on my pizza a few weeks ago. They were seriously amazing, the best I've ever had. Will check this out tomorrow, definitely.

Sounds great - but the best pizza in Britain has to be at Il Forno in Liverpool, as it won the best pizza in the world competition - beating even pizza chefs in italy. It won this a year ago - when did Franco Manca open? Maybe they didn't take part in the competition ...

It only opened this year. I went past at around 4.30 on Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed. They also had some great looking bread on the counter, which they're starting to sell as of Monday.

Small world I was there at 4.30 on Sat w/ my wife, our 1 year old and good friend who just found out one of owners is a friend of a friend. Unfortunately, they had run out of dough by 4.30 so there was no pizza to be had.

The specials change regularly according to the availibility of ingredients. I recently had a pizza bianca with artichokes, which were, quite simply, the best artichokes I've ever tasted. The waiter said they came from Sardinia, and gave me the number of the supplier. I love Franco Manca.

I really want to check this out - sorry if its been answered elsewhere but does anyone know the opening times? I seem to recall reading in Time Out that its got quite strange times (ie not open at weekends!)

It's only open at lunchtimes and not at all on Sundays. Weekdays are best as Saturdays are very busy.

Just out of curiosity, what did the yummy pizzas you show on the blog cost?

Prices range from £3.90 to £5.60, but I believe these two were £4.80 for the calzone and £5.40 for the other.
...Lemonade was £1.

Unbelievable value really. Have been going there since it pretty much first opened, and it always amazes me how they are even cheaper than pretty much every bog standard takeaway or pizza restaurant.

They've got another place opening across the market though. Good thing, as they also just won a Time Out award for Best Cheap Eat.
