Romantic dinner in Studio City/Sherman Oaks

PD Girl Sep 23, 2008 08:31 PM

I am looking for a nice romantic place for a date night with my husband on Friday. We have been to Bizou and Max in the recent past, so I am looking for some other suggestions. Burbank would be okay as would Encino/Tarzana/Woodland Hills.

Le Petit Chateau in North Hollywood might mot be everyone's idea of a romantic date, but I've gotten lucky more than once there (with the same woman, mind you ...)

This is *very* traditional French fare of the coq-au-vin-frog's-legs variety, admittedly not every Hounders' cup of tea but it's the kind of menu you don't see much of any more, and all done very well. The room is dark and romantic.

      Le Petit Chateau Restaurant
4615 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91602

Mistral in Sherman Oaks looks very romantic. I've never been able to get a reservation when I've had the opportunity to go! (sigh)

          Il Tiramisu

Ca Del Sole, on the patio

Brandywine is in Woodland Hills, but it is romantic and special.

          Spumante in No Ho

          Palate in Glendale

          Bistro Garden?

my husband is taking us to Boneyard Bistro this weekend for our anniversary. not traditionally romantic, no, but he says he's cooking up something special with the chef.

Inn of the Seventh Ray is a bit of a drive (in topanga Canyon), but super duper romantic for sure.

Omakase for two at Asanebo is romantic.

There is a newish wine bar and tapas place across from Aroma in Encino. I forget the name, and haven't tried it, but the menu looks good.

Diana - it is called Vino Wine Bar and has been opened for over a year now, fwiw!
            Owner is Alfiya Volk.

if you don't want to drive out to Saddle Peak, you might try Firefly in Studio City, esp if you can get on the patio.

there's also Ca del Sole, which I've had several nice meals there.

Panzanella isn't a bad choice in Sherman Oaks, or even Spazio.

May be a bit of a drive, but how about Saddle Peak Lodge?
