Japanese Steak House - Glastonbury
Hi, don't think I've seen a post yet on this place - guess they just opened last week...We decided to give it a try spur of the moment tonight and were glad we did. Interior is really nice and seems like it will have a good ambiance, hard to tell since it was pretty empty on a Tuesday.
We sat at the sushi bar and were greeted by 2 helpful sushi chefs and lots of friendly wait staff. We ordered our typical stuff since I really wanted to get the feel for the place and how it would compare to the other local sushi place...The sushi was excellent, salmon melts in your mouth! We also had eel, scallop, ikura, and a special roll - lobster roll which was good, but probaly not something we would order again, good, but one of those things you just want to try...House salad came with a side of ginger dressing - which was really good. Dessert Mushi(?) which was basically red bean ice cream inside what they call sticky rice, but is more something like a sweetish sticky dumpkling wrapper - very good as well.
Overall a great first impression and I'm sure we will be heading there over chickurin at least for the time being when we stay local...a little more pricey, but I think it was worth it. THey also have hibachi and lots of other non sushi items as well...also 2 other places in Evergreen walk and Hamden...
