Trattoria Timone (Oakville)...YUM yum YUM!
Went to Trattoria Timone in Oakville last Monday night.
Celebrating a friends Bday and well......blown away!
I must say, with no expectations when we arrived, this restaurant is da BOMB!
"it's a good thing"...........Martha Stewart circa 2007
Our SERVER, Kim, outstanding, fun, comical, without being over-bearing. Very knowledgeable on wines and suggestions on what is their speciality. Nice to see a server loving their job and so proud of serving outstanding quality meals.
They used to be located in Downtown Oakville but moved to the AMC Oakville Theatre strip. Now, one would think "how odd" and would the atmosphere be as good?
But seriously; You walk in and are transformed. Away from the world. It is just a really nice restaurant, cozy, inviting, nice ambience :) AND on the night we were there, pretty buzy for a Monday Night.
ME: The warm goat cheese salad was superb, and the fettucini (smooth, creamy with smoked chicken...) was perfectly done!
MY GUEST: Grilled Calamari (stole some from him, nice and tender, and the smokiness flavor was vavooom) and for his main; beef tenderloin with a mushroom and Madiera sauce (he pretty much licked his plate clean).....tres YUM!
This is now my NEW favourite place to dine. AND not just for a special occasion.
We will certainly be back for Apps & wine in the bar area. (they told us they have a guitar player on weekends:)
I liked being there on a Monday night, as stated, it was buzy, but service, the fab. food, just the whole FEEL of the place..again we were very blown-away.
I think this is Oakville's Best Kept Secret........till now.......;)
PS.......here is the link to them: http://trattoriatimone.ca/pages/frame...
I only tried this place after they moved to AMC complex and was pleasantly surprised as well!
Had a great night there for a casual dinner at the bar sharing the seafood appetizer for two and a delicious pizza..
I always recommend this place for anyone looking for something near the theatre..
Yes they charge for brushetta, it's called suggestive selling oldest technique in the book, along with head nod ......DOH!
I guess it would be like when the waitress asks "would you like some wine to start?"..obviously it is not fareeeeeeeeeee
but understand what you are stating.....I think they offered us brushetta but it never came across that it was being given away:)
Hope this helps:)
