Most grocery stores care them; they are in the refridgerator section (in my store, Price Chopper, near the eggs).

I was just talking with a friend of mine the other day about this, she told me that C-Town in Tarrytown carries them.

I haven't seen them in years but I think you could ask at a bakery if you could buy some from them. I am curious, do you prefer the cake yeast or are you trying to follow an old recipe?
