Breakfast/Brunch Spots in Long Beach

brattenheimer Sep 22, 2008 06:00 PM

Hey, Hounds...

Looking for some reasonably priced breakfast/brunch spots to go to in Long Beach while visiting on Sunday, 10/5. We'll be staying at the Westin...and will be looking for a good, greasy breakfast to help us recover from the previous evening's 20-yr H.S. reunion festivities. ;)

can't second the recs for khoury's or crepes. both serve horrible food (of course, IMHO). Schooner or Later is terrific, as is Chuck's over by the Olympic pool, the home of the weasel (terrific, in the sense of really great greasy, spicy morning-after food). and, of course, there's my beloved bnb.

schooner or later is mandatory.....legendary hangover cure - the mess.

on the water is a plus. It will be crowded but hang in there. totally worth the wait

I 2nd Schooner or Later but, while the mess may be good, my wife who ordered it couldn't keep her fork out of my plate of pancakes which were outstanding.

I'll agree with Khoury's...awesome Champagne brunch. Le Creperie is really nice, too...if you like crepes....they're cheese and pate platter is amazing!
But if you really want grease, I would suggest Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. They have a Long Beach branch...and I think it's the best fried chicken I've ever had.

Ah, but have you had the fried chicken from M&M's Soul Food? They are located in a bowling alley on Carson and Paramount and have an larger selection of breakfast items (compared to Roscoe's).

              The Coffee Cup
              Bake n Broil
              Khoury's
              Buster's Beach House
Le Creperie (ok, I know, not greasy...but still so good)
              to name a few....
