        <content>My boyfriend keeps talking about the pu pu platters he used to order as a kid in Connecticut. Where can I take him for a good pu pu platter? Any neighborhood will do.</content>

      <content>He probably is refering to the type of platters seen mostly in the suburbs at Chinese restaurants that is like a lazy susan surrounded by teriaki sticks, fried shrimp, ribs , egg rolls etc. Very nostaligic espicially if you grew up in a town that served Chinese and had the name Polynesian whatever associated with it. These were great to have especially after a night of drinking and you could get all the grease from the fried food to soak up the booze.I have never seen them in NYC Chinese restaurants. </content>

      <content>actually, they used to be pretty easy to find when i moved here back in the '80s -- bamboo house, in the e vill, which closed recently, did the trick for me back in the day.

about the best i've had in ny, however, is king yum on union turnpike in fresh meadows -- the decor and overall menu will definitely sate your BF.
