Healdsburg report
Thanks to all who responded to where to eat in Healdsburg a couple of weeks ago. We were on a Backroads Bicycle trip that was pretty darn good. Anyway--didn't eat at the recommended places BUT did eat a Charcuterie and had a great meal. It was a Wednesday night, so there was no corkage fee. We went next door to the wine shop and asked for a wine that would go with anything that was ordered--can't quite remember what we got but it was good too. Anyway two of our party had the chicken breast special and said it was in the top ten meals that they had ever eaten. Two of us had the Duck Confit and it too was wonderful. The fifth member of our party had a vegetarian crepe and reported that is too was great. Had the baked brie for our appetizer and it also disappeared with no problem. Have to report we were too full for dessert but the menu looked great. Then Santi--well, the waitress had too many people to take care of easily. We were a large party (17) split into two tables. My meal was good. And no major complaints except that the drink was too strong and couldn't seem to get the tonic to water it down a little. A couple in our party had a pasta dish that was too hot (spicy) to eat and another pasta was so bland it too was disappointing. I'm afraid that I wouldn't recommend this to anyone--but as I said not enough help was available.
