In Search of Excellent Diner/resturant - NOT CONEY, Livonia, MI
I live in Livonia Michigan just west of Detroit. I have been on the search for about a year now for an excellent quality Diner style resturant in the close area. We are totally tired for the usual Coney Island type place. We especially like Great breakfasts, good sandwichs and the like. Fresh Turkey & Salmon burgers maybe??? Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
We just recently tried Thomas' on Plymouth and we go to Gest Omlettes alot, they are good but not great.
Thanks in advance for any recomendations!!!

Some people don't like it because it's a chain, but I've had pretty good experiences there. Bottom line is they go through a lot of fish, so you get fresh fish cooked with simple recipes that are hard to screw up. They have a pretty good b-day discount as I recall. Common Grill in Chelsea may be better, but for a fun lunch on my birthday (or somebody else's) it's fine.

I like it! Nothing blow-your-mind-away caliber, but altogether good from my experience with it. It's not going to come off as too chainy from what I remember, and they'll do fine with the seafood. I really enjoyed the chowder.
Last time my I was there, my brother and I made reservations during halftime at the Big House, and we ate while the city cleared out...and we enjoyed ourselves. Are there places we've liked better? Yes. Does that take anything away from Real Seafood Company? Not at all.

Try Bode's Corned Beef House in Plymouth on N. Main, maybe a half mile north of the town center. I've only had breakfast there, but the corned beef hash is primo.
