MSP - Birthday dinner this Friday

A good friend has offered to take me out for dinner this Friday for my birthday. We both love good food and wine. My friend no longer eats red meat, pork or chicken, but will eat seafood. I live on the west side of Nokomis and want to stay pretty close to home. I am looking for suggestions because I know there are places I haven't tried yet or should go back to.

I've been to Heidi's, Broders, Blackbird, Corner Table, Cafe Maude, Levain, Al Vento, Prima. What have I missed or should I simply return to one of the above?

First Course at 56th and Chicago. I've been three times. Twice it was very good. One time the service was off, but food still all right.

Brad, thanks for recommendation. First Course is just blocks from my house. I've only been once, in 2004, but had such a bad experience that I've never returned, even though the food was fine.

Have you tried Citizen Cafe? I was waiting until they got their liquor license, which was going to happen sometime in August. I've heard good things about it.

Also, I'd recomment Cafe Ena, at 46th and Grand and La Chaya at 46th and Nicollet.

Oh, that's a good idea! I've only been there for brunch, that might be fun for dinner!
